I just raised the question in the form "IF". We see pics of a longer thinner face, so we are suspecting that there may have been a duplicate Paul before 1966. IF this is true, the Paul we think of as James Paul, is really a replacement. And "Faul" as we know him as a replacement of a replacement.
How many post 66 Fauls do you see?
Just asking, not trying to pick any fights...

As fauxster said, I don't think Faul is a clone, but that's just my own lay
speculation.
The info in the article on "lab doubles" is interesting though. That may have
something to do with Faul.

Whatever happened to the man fingered by the media as the one who "started the Paul is Dead rumor"? Russ Gibb went onto some other projects. Whatever happened to Minnesota DJ, "St. Paul"-singer and Faul-resembling Terry Knight?

Back Porch Video was one of the first cable television-based music video programs. It premiered on January 28, 1984 as the brainchild of Russ Gibb, former owner of the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, Michigan. Gibb is best known as the radio DJ who suggested the Paul is Dead rumor, suggesting that Paul McCartney of the Beatles was actually dead.
Shown out of Westinghouse's Group W Cable studios in Dearborn, Michigan, Back Porch Video stayed on the air for the better part of 16 years.
What made Back Porch Video unique was that it was crewed and hosted primarily by area high-school aged students. The program aired live in Dearborn from 10pm - 1am on Saturday nights, although that was later expanded to 9pm - 1am after about one year of cablecasting. The show was broken up into hour-long segments, each of which was hosted by a different personality (or personality team.) This allowed for the programs to be distributed in hour-long segments to a myriad of other cable systems in the Southeast Michigan area. The program also saw a short run of three programs on Detroit's PBS station, WTVS Channel 56, and won a CableACE award for excellence in 1985.
The musical style favored by most of the hosts was alternative rock, although plenty of pop music, heavy metal, rap and hardcore punk was also shown. Within the first few years of being on the air, Back Porch Video was serviced by most every major record label, as well as dozens of smaller labels and independent video promoters.
Back Porch VJ Dino Kovas went on to join the New Monkees.
Some of the VJ’s from 1989 thru 1992 were, Nicholas “Thick Nick” Sawabini, Peter "Big Peter" Sawabini, Scott “Mad Dog” Cook, Eric “Gangster o' Love” Gubka, Stacey Corbet, Rebecca Ramirez, Damian Dobez, Bill Russell, Kevin Esser, Alex Garcia, Bryce Miller, Darryl Miller, and David Schroeder.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you beatlies about the "munchkin" look of Paul/Faul. Here is the same guy in the Day Tripper video and he looks the same size or bigger than John. We don't disagree, actually, I meant Munchkin Paul as in that one photo in Mojo magazine where an unusually tiny "Paul" is shown with his guitar, as it was discussed in an NIR thread and the picture was posted. This remains a weird anomaly and curiousity. As for the moptop Fauls, I would say that there were two temporally co-existing, one was a backup double for the moptopFaul who could actually sing and play instruments, and this moptopFaul-double did many public and media appearancesincluding lip-sychs like in the above Day Tripper video. The same with all the moptopFeatles: they had a full four-man backup of doubles for each one "John Paul George Ringo." They all seem to have been tossed and replaced with a fully new crew as of the big August 1966-January 1967 switchover: enter the post-moptop era and the new world of Sgt. Pepper's Clonely Hearts Clubbed Banned. |

Yes, it's quite symbolic that Sgt. Pepper was a funeral for the mop top Fab Four and presenting to the world, the bright and shiny new Featles....
Though alot of people have a difficult time accepting that the other Beatles had been replaced, as well as Paul.
