The smoking gun in the Paul Is Dead mystery is a 1964 interview with Paul by David Frost (look on YouTube). Paul was laughed at when he said he wanted to retire in two years, but his demeanor was quite serious. He even gave his reason for leaving The Beatles, which was that they had done everything they were ordered to do and now he wanted creative freedom.
I've researched the PID controversy intensively. I believe that Paul left the group in late 1964. He was filled in for by Dino Danelli, Pearl Witherington and the guy I call Chubby Faced Paul. Only around 1966 did Faul surface. The real Paul doesn't show up again until the Pipes of Peace video, where he plays a soldier opposite Faul. Paul finally came out of retirement with the Back in the US 2002 Tour, and he's been appearing publicly ever since.
I think the man just wanted to stay home with his kids and take a nice, long REST.

I don't think Dino was ever used as a Faul. And the Pearl story I don't buy.
As for the chubby faced Faul that you are referring to, must be the one where the cheeks were those facial fillers.
But I can't buy that the real Paul lived past 66. Not buying that he lived past 66.
