^ I remember when that came out!
BTW, I heard a rumor that that sketch was what got him booted off of SNL.

Again, it should be pointed out that Arsenio Hall and Eddie Murphy were close friends and co-stars. Murphy seems to have been replaCIAed in the 1991-92 period. Arsenio Hall's brilliant career and hit TV talk show abruptly shut down in 1994 and he has been, inexplicably, nearly absent from the media since that time. Hall was a seminal pop-culture beacon (along with MC Hammer) of 1989-1990. Now: With Johnny Carson`s retirement from NBC`s "Tonight" in 1992, the late-night scene was poised to change, and Hall promised to "kick Jay`s a--" (speaking of Leno) -- a noble goal, perhaps, but with ratings starting to sink, not wise. The landscape quickly shifted to Letterman vs. Leno, and Hall`s show left the air in 1994. Since then, Hall had a 1997 sitcom, hosted the revival of "Star Search" and auditioned to host "Deal or No Deal" in 2005. He has made cameos in "Flavor of Love" and "Chappelle`s Show," and recently announced that he`ll be hosting an upcoming reality show on MyNetworkTV. His show was known for the audience's shouting "Whoop whoop whoop!". Family Life: Single used to date Paula Abdul Has a son. Info: The Arsenio Hall Show distinguished itself by targeting audiences that have been largely ignored by other late-night talk shows: African Americans, and Latinos, as well as the younger generation of television viewers which he identified on several occasions as the "MTV generation." Hall reached these audiences through a hip and casual approach to the show, strongly informed by his talent as a stand-up comedian as well as by tales of his childhood experiences in a Cleveland lower middle class community. In fact, Hall constantly invoked stories about being someone who left the ghetto for another type of life but who was still emotionally and politically connected to it. The strategy kept his television persona grounded at a level closer to audiences. Trivia: Arsenio Hall (as a character named Chunky A) put out an album entitled "Large And In Charge." Paula Abdul, Wil Wheaton and Ice-T are among the guests that appear on the album. He was a member of Ohio University's forensics (competitive speech) team. The team has also had Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson) and Leon Harris (morning anchor, CNN) as members. He appeared in a TV commercial for Tab Cola in the mid-80s. Replaced Joan Rivers as host of the late night talk show, "The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers" in 1987 after she was fired and the name of the show was changed to "The Late Show Starring Arsenio Hall"
As a teenager, he was an accomplished magician. Graduated from Kent State University. Was an M.C. at the Sheba Lounge in Chicago, late 70s, early 80s. Discovered by jazz singer Nancy Wilson (See a video clip of Nancy Wilson click here) Composed the theme song to his talk show. Where Is He Now: Arsenio is busy working as a producer and director on 'The Other 23 Hours.' It's a behind-the-scenes look at the black stand-up comedy circuit. He also has returned to doing Stand Up and has appeared at various venues. If you are a fan of The Proud Family, then you probably heard Arsenio as he was the voice of Dr. Carver/Bobby Proud. In the past few years he has appeared repeatedly on 'The Chappelle Show' and 'Best Damn Sport Show.' Thought came to me when Eddie Murphy mentioned in an old interview that Vernon had stood in for him in many of the shots in Coming to America. But ... I made a mistake. In the interview Eddie statss that it's CHARLIE standing in for him in that film. So my theory is shot. Sorry about that.

While briefly watching a really stupid & not funny Feddie Murphy movie tonight, my mother commented that it "didn't look like Eddie" & that the "jaw was different." Seriously, though. How could people think Norbit is Eddie? Do they think he got a funny-bone-ectomy? I'm sick of these talentless replacements.

How do you post jpgs?
Do I need to upload to photobucket?
I think the Eddie Murphy from the 1986 SNL is different to both the ones from Beverly hills Cop II and III. Skin colour is different for starters.
The differences between II and III are also obvious.

I don't believe Eddie was imposter-replaced. I recently saw an episode of Biography on the Biography Channel and there were TWO Eddies being interviewed, both the same age but slightly different. This is not a case of being replaced. It's a case of TWINS.
I know there are people on this board who laugh at this or criticize, but there is a Twins Program. Not all of these celebrities die or have doubles/lookalikes. Some are twins and Eddie's is a case of twins.
