Something to consider, by the time of "A Star Is Born" circa 1976, with "fro"...she intended to have Elvis Presley star in the film as the aging rock star. But Col Parker turned it down and Kris Kristofferson was chosen. He is a known handler and programmer. I'm thinking that he was brought in intentionally to program this "Fabs".

I agree that by this time she had seemed to "sell out" to make radio friendly music. I may also serve as a reminder of another bomb right after A Star Is Born, and that was The Main Event, a pitiful movie with Ryan O Neal. I gag when I think of this horrible piece of cinema.

Not to mention that she did a disco duet with Donna Summer "Enough is Enough"...

For me, this segment of her career was rather lame. Not the most memorable.

By the 80's she then did an album of Broadway songs, and then Yentl, her directorial debut.

Yeah I remember when The Main Event came out. I opted to go see Rocky II instead, which was worth it.

By this time, it was the 3rd or 4th Barbra yet there was something unique about her voice. Nobody yet has been able to hit the notes like this one even though the songs were cheesy. She stands out as the 'Barbra' I remember most.


Still don't know if the Farbra in the 1966 interview above is the same as the one in The Way We Were(1973) but I am quite certain there was new Barbra by 1975 and another new one by the early 80's who is probably the same 'Barbra' as nowadays.

The real Joan Rivers acted in a play with the real Barbara Streisand (she spelled it Barbara, not Barbra, back then) in the early 1960s, before either one was famous. The play was called Seawood and it was staged in a small theater in Greenwich Village NYC. This is covered, with photo in the Joan Rivers (or Foan?) autobiography Enter Talking that was released in the mid-1980s (before the suicide(?) of her husband and manager Edgar Rosenberg).

all we know about our so called stars is only what the media and press told us and they are under

I think these handlers are having a field day with these stars. Whoever is in charge of Lindsay Lohan has been doing a fine job of ruining a star who was very talented.
