and let's not forget that shakira is from COLUMBIA, her boyfriend is the son of a former president of ARGENTINA,all kinds of rumors of break-ups with them, they were supposed to get married at one time there were even rumors that she had bought a wedding dress from famous designer but she later denied all this, she also started to perform at the age of 4, was going to post a link but i'm at work so can't, but there's a huge amount of info on her on wiki alone, she's touted as being the biggest latin star ever.

I had wondered about her myself. Though I can't say I am familiar with her videos or her music, I remember seeing her on some program performing live and thought, she doesn't look like the same woman in the "Hips Don't Lie"...whatever that title song is, to me.

It seems as though some of these Latin bombshells, naturally dark haired, are given makeovers to be blonde icons, they have electrolosis to thin out heavy eyebrows, or any sign of her ethnic roots. It's as though the dark haired with fuller eyebrows image is somehow frowned upon. I noticed how they "lightened up" JLO or FLO..or whatever by making her "white".

I don't get it. They also like to thin these stars out too much that they look emaciated at times.

Brittney Murphy comes to mind, not that she was a Latin star, but she is of Italian descent. They took away her Italian name, thinned out the eyebrows, made her blonde, and then she's an acceptable "star"?

You are what you are, I don't really care for these types who abandon who they are by becoming blonde Barbie dolls. They sing the songs in their native tongues, why not look like the native people rather than this pre fab mannequin?

All part of the monarch slavery...it seems that emaciated blonde types are what the handlers want in sex slaves.

we must be reading each others mind, i had been thinking about thalia also, she is i believe still married to tommy motola, when she crossed over she went through a big transformation.

MEXICo, is now considered to be one of the USA's greatest allies, i believe it is a huge hotbead for human trafficking and of course drug history is well known and whatever other dubious activities they care to participate in. here is a link on the protest of the 2006 presidential election in which a large region in mexico, OAXCA,(that has a large indigenous population, although most mexicans have imo, a lot of native american dna,) did not acknowledge the american backed right wing alleged presidential elect, CALDERON. it when on for a few months and ended with CARDERON, whom, in a controversial decision, on his first day in office approved a salary raise for for federal police and mexican armed forces, having to send troops in the area, after that not much was televised, i used to have latin american stations and their news is, quite frankly, horrific.

As far as I noticed up to now, THALIA was replaced too. That relationship/marriage with MARIAH CAREY's ex-handler/husband mobster MOTTOLA says it all, dont u think? And shes been for so so long away from the limelight and having her daughter meantime is no excuse for that. Her career literally stalled and shes been seldom seen (with or without her daughter). Interesting, both THALIA&SHAKIRA have the same ethnical background, half Lebanese/half Mexican (Hispanic).

Looking through some of those pics, there are a few that remind me of a Mariah wannabe.
It's like there is this "type" they want and they seem to duplicate the "type".

Even if it means taking Latin ladies and making them more "California Girl" look.

I'm thinking that there may have been a second one. Perhaps they have a spare they used at the same time....

The noses seem to change and then change again. Wide then for a while the nose seems thinner in the tip and then it looks wider again.

If she was indeed replaced, it happened when she made her debut on the Anglo-Saxon music market, cca 2000 - 2001, so they could have an improved "tool"? Hollywood-ized SHAKIRA?
