"The many degrees of Ellen Ellen DeGeneres is related to Halle Berry (10th cousins once removed via the Van Swearingen family of Maryland). Halle Berry is related to Mark Wahlberg (11th cousins via the Peabody family of Massachusetts). Mark Wahlberg is related to Madonna (11th cousins via the Dumay family of Quebec). Madonna is related to Camilla Parker Bowles (ninth cousins once removed via the Cloutier family of Quebec). Camilla Parker Bowles is related to Diana, Princess of Wales (seventh cousins via the Keppel family of England). Diana is related to Tim Robbins (10th cousins via the Thompson Parke family of Connecticut). Tim Robbins is related to Richard Gere (11th cousins via the Denison family of Connecticut). Richard Gere is related to Ellen DeGeneres (11th cousins via the Brewster family of Massachusetts)." Interesting. Where did this come from?

The close blood ties definitely make sense. Back when I was younger and innocent I honestly thought that while budding young actors who had a family member in the "business" could certainly take advantage of having agents' phone numbers and being able to get those initial auditions - but I thought, surely, they're not going to just automatically get work over more talented people just due to blood ties. WRONG! When every celeb in the mainstream, every politician, and every royal are closely related, the game is sure rigged.

It seems celebrity is just like politics in terms of bloodline, but harder to detect the bloodline connection due to the sheer number of celebrities(and their clones .)

I don't really think 9th cousin twice removed is really that close a relation but I am the first to admit I am wrong, lol. Anyhow the fact that two hillbillies are related is no suprise,LOL.

"WHAT IS KATY PERRY’S LINK TO JOAN CRAWFORD?
It really IS a small world. Katy Perry has a close “nine degrees of separation” connection to Joan Crawford. Katy’s evangelist mother’s aunt and uncle were successful Hollywood director Frank Perry and his screenwriter wife Eleanor Perry. Frank Perry directed the classic movie “Mommie Dearest” – the Joan Crawford story starring Faye Dunaway."

It is more like SIX degree of separation(and often closer then that) and that applies tp everyone! I can come up with four degrees separation from me to Robert Redford and that means five degrees to whoever he knows. Try it and you will see it IS a small world!

"Are there any skeletons in your family closet? One in 20 Britons has a criminal in their bloodline
Delving into the family tree could throw up some dark secrets as new research reveals a fifth of us have a convicted criminal in our bloodline.
And one in 100 Britons has a direct relation who used to be a pirate according to new research.
The typical British family tree contains servants and war heroes, while three per cent of the population has links to royalty, said family history website Ancestry.co.uk.
Genealogical research also showed that two per cent of people in this country have links to sporting legends.
Actress Patsy Kensit was shocked when she traced her relations on the BBC's Who Do You Think Are? programme and discovered her family had a criminal past.
The 2008 show revealed her late father Jimmy Kensit was linked to London gangsters including the Krays and the Richardsons.
Her father's criminal record revealed he was arrested for the first time aged 19, for pick-pocketing and was later charged with being an 'incorrigible rogue', a specific offence under the Vagrancy Act.
And it didn't stop there as the former Emmerdale actress found records in the National Archives that showed her grandfather James was a criminal.
Records showed he was forced to give back his First World War medals in 1921 after he was sentenced to three years' penal servitude.
Retired Brian Pickett, from Norfolk, told The Telegraph he had a surprise when he looked into his family's past and discovered his great great uncle was one of two men sentenced to death for murder in the last public execution at Lincoln Castle in 1859.
Mr Picket, 71, said: 'It was a bit of a surprise. But there's always something under the carpet.
'It was quite a big thing at the time with people letting out their rooms for people to come and watch the execution.'
One per cent counted a bigamist among their relations while one in 30 family trees can be traced to royalty.
But Dan Jones, content director at Ancestry, said 72 per cent of people hadn't looked into their heritage, with only a third even knowing their roots back to their great grandparents.
Nearly half haven't gone back any further than the 20th century.
Mr Jones said: 'Our research proves that every one has a fascinating ancestor just waiting to be discovered and Christmas is the perfect opportunity to get the whole family together to share their memories, bring to life stories from the past, and learn more about the person sitting next to them at the Christmas table.
'This Christmas we're inviting people to open the door to their family history, where they can uncover links to swashbuckling pirates, kings and queens, or even stake claim to a long-lost fortune - the possibilities are endless.' "

"Melissa and Jenny McCarthy: Cousins!
Melissa McCarthy is not the only funny lady in her family. It turns out that the newly-crowned Best Comedy Actress is related to none other than Jenny McCarthy. After Melissa's big win on Sunday night for her role on Mike & Molly, Jenny tweeted, "Congrats to my cousin melissa mccarthy on her Emmy win!!" RadarOnlne.com reported that Melissa, 41, and Jenny, 38, grew up about 40 miles from each other in Illinois. The cousins have collaborated in the past as well. Radar discovered that in 1997, Jenny booked Melissa -- who was then an unknown comic -- for an appearance on her self-titled MTV show. "

I dont know if she's so, but I find her painfully unfunny and talentless. Besides, its the stereotype that fat ppl are or should be funny. If she wants to live a few more years, she will have to lose a lot of weight. Ironically, her cousin or should I say FENNY MCFARTHY is truly funny.

"Kyra Sedgwick discovers hubby Kevin Bacon is a distant cousin
As if she didn’t already have an unfair advantage when it comes to playing “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon,” Kyra Sedgwick recently revealed that she’s related to her husband in more ways than one.
On Thursday night’s “Late Show With David Letterman,” Sedgwick explained that, thanks to Henry Louis Gates’ PBS series, “Faces of America,"she now knows she has several famous cousins.
“You know, it’s amazing, because you learn so much about your family,” the actress said. “(Gates) went 200 years back on my mother’s side and 200 years back on my father’s side. And I just found out things I didn’t know at all.”
For instance, Sedgwick can count Marilyn Monroe, as well as former presidents Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter, among her distant relations. She can also count Bacon, her husband of 22 years.
“(He’s my) 10th cousin, once removed,” Sedgwick said. “It was a little upsetting. I’m not gonna lie.”
But despite the big family reveal, Letterman was less than impressed. It seems the late-night host doesn’t put much stock in genealogy.
“Yeah, I’m very skeptical of this,” he protested. “I just… I don’t know. I would go on there, and I bet you I’m related to those same people.”
“But it was on PBS!” Sedgwick said in her defense. “You have to believe PBS.”
Happily married couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have been left stunned and shaken by a new family tree study - after discovering they are distant cousins. The pair teamed up with top genealogist Henry Louis Gates, Jr. for new TV special "Finding Your Roots," and he reveals they were not exactly thrilled with what they dug up. The historian explains, "It turns out they share two things - they both are descendants from people who owned slaves, and they are indeed distant cousins." And they weren't the only celebrities shocked by findings from the past on the show - crooner Harry Connick, Jr. discovered he had Confederate ancestors while Robert Downey, Jr. learned there was a gruesome murder in his family history. Gates, Jr. adds, "We don't have any prior agreements with anyone (over what could be disclosed), and we just did the stories. We have a team of genealogists. We have different genealogists for different people - some are more expert on African-Americans, some on Jewish people, some on Ashkenazi-Jewish people, some on Asian people. But whatever we find, we try to boil it down to three or four narrative arcs. "(We discovered) Robert Downey, Jr., two generations back... (there was) a murder in his family. He had no idea. I'm getting him reading the headlines from the New York Times about the murder of these ancestors. "Harry Connick, Jr. did not want to know he had Confederate ancestors, I'm sure. We tell them (stars) and it's a total surprise."

I see something like that on NBC and I'm not sure what night that is on, I stumbled upon Reba Mc Intyre tracing her roots to England...one time I saw Sarah Jessica Parker's ancestor line trace back to a witch's coven in Salem....(Why doesn't that surprise me?)
I'm sure if you shake most of the famous people's trees, their branches narrow down because they are of the same blood.....
Which leads to the ideas that these people are not really "Famous" because they are talented, but because of their bloodlines....who they were from...like Military and political bloodlines...
I'm sure their blood goes Illuminati blue...if the truth be told....OR...they are laboratory celebs that were created....
