When I look to the television for some sort of entertainment, I am amazed at who is considered "celebrity" these days.
It used to be that someone could actually sing and play and instrument, or act. But for the amount of attention drawn to "reality" show people that have been made into this strange "celebrity" like the Kardashians, Jon and Kate and Octomom...and other such "stars" like Heidi Montag and her extremely talented actor/husband Spencer...(gag,cough, barf) I ask, "Where do they dig these people up?" Why are these people considered "celebrities" and why does it seem that anybody gives a crap about these idiots?
I consider that some of these drones and clones are created in a lab and are thrown into the public just to see if anybody notices or cares that these people are not actors, cannot sing and have no other considerable marketing skills but that of tabloidish nonsense.
I think the bottom line is such exposure of such buffoons is that the system keeps telling the public that these people are interesting and are worth talking about. If the people hear that these people are interesting enough times, they'll start to believe they are really talented.
A great example is that Justin Timberlake is the hottest guy ever and the best singer ever. Give me a break.
If the public hears that crap has started to smell good often enough, they'll start to believe that crap actually does smell good!!
