"Rumored use of Michael Jackson body doubles could be raised in trial, sources say

In the months before and after Michael Jackson's sudden death in 2009, rumors ran rampant that body doubles were being used in an effort to disguise the King of Pop’s ailing health. Now sources connected to the ongoing $40 billion wrongful death suit filed by the Jackson family against AEG tell FOX411’s Pop Tarts column the body double reports will likely be dug back up as the case heads to trial.

An insider tells FOX411 that Jackson had strong incentive to ensure he fulfilled his commitments to AEG, as he agreed to do the “This Is It” tour “out of sheer desperation” for fresh funds. Jackson knew if he didn’t fulfill his contractual obligations, he would be forced to pay back the $30 million in advance money and possibly forfeit his share of his prized Beatles catalogue, the source said.

Speculation over just how able he was to take the stage first surfaced in March 2009, with some speculating he was so far from ready, a body double was needed in his place.

About three months before his death, several spectators and critics started to question whether the jittery figure donning aviator shades and a sparkly jacket while appearing before the masses at the massive tour announcement press conference inside London’s O2 Arena was Jackson, or an impersonator.

“It just didn’t seem to be Michael. He was very thin, yet this ‘Michael’ was stronger, had a bigger head and always wore a wig. This London version of Michael also had much bigger hands,” a source connected to the Jackson family said, based on her personal knowledge of the entertainer.

Similar questions over Jackson’s health and real identity raced across the Internet, with many also suggesting that the awkward, almost macho stride of Jackson heading into the arena was a far cry from his normally soft-footed walk, and that even his chin looked off.

“In my opinion, the man in the clip isn’t Michael Jackson; it’s a man posing as Michael Jackson. The (apparent) body double’s walk is cockier and had more bounce than MJ’s typical stride,” explained Bianca Cobb, a senior instructor at the Body Language Institute. “Michael had a less confident walk with smaller strides and less pep. He also tended to walk with his head down, and deflected attention. The seemingly double spoke more confidently by projecting his voice more and was also a bit deeper. Michael tended to have a softer and lower tone of voice which didn’t project across the room.”

Cobb also pointed out that Jackson had straighter teeth than what was evident during the conference, and the alleged double’s chin – although containing a cleft – was overall more tapered, and that Michael’s upper lip didn’t elevate as much as the alleged double’s upper lip at full smile.

“The apparent double’s smile had a lift on the side which is the commisures,” she told us. (The commisures is where the upper and lower lip meet.) “MJ’s smile was flatter than the (person at the conference) as their smile was more arched.”

Another source, who worked closely with the star across his career, wasn’t convinced it was him, but wasn’t convinced it wasn’t him either.

“There are inflections in his voice that sound true to me. His lower voice I have not heard and yet, within them, I recognize his voice. But this is not an easy call,” the insider said. “The walk is something I have never experienced. His lower voice I have not heard yet, so these things make me wonder.”

Officials at the arena, as well as the Jackson camp, vehemently denied that it was anybody but the real deal at that conference, and another source close to Jackson assured us it was him. Well, at least him on something.

“There is no question it was Michael. The gangster walk was really him. The problem is that he was heavily intoxicated during this press conference, which ironically, is one of the things I believe will be an exhibit during this trial,” said the insider. “He was drinking heavily and extremely high on at least a couple of substances. Even when Joseph (Jackson, father) saw the press conference he became concerned. In fact, that was about the same time Michael began calling his dad again seeking ‘protection.”

And by “protection” we’re told Michael kept saying that people were “after him” and his catalogue he was paranoid that everyone he came in contact with was trying to kill him.

And these aren't the only body double allegations potentially slated to be raised during the trial. Just four months after Jackson’s passing, the rumors resurfaced when Columbia Pictures released the “This Is It” documentary, chronicling the King of Pop’s rehearsals for the sold-out “This is It” tour, which was scheduled to begin just a few weeks after he died. Many speculated that Jackson doubles – a dime in a dozen in Hollywood – were used to fill gaps in the film. Such claims were only perpetuated after Joe Jackson declared that it was “mostly body doubles.” However, the film’s distributor was quick to shoot down the widespread accusations.

“This story is pure garbage and there are no body doubles… Every time they see the King of Pop they will know that every frame is unquestionably and undeniably Michael as he rehearses and prepares for the London concerts that were to have begun this past summer,” stated Steve Elzer, Senior Vice President of Media Relations at Sony Pictures, at the time.

Others close to the star aren’t quite so confident.

“The doubles or stand-ins were used in rehearsal footage we saw in ‘This is It,’” argued a Jackson insider. “Look specifically at the performances of ‘Human Nature’ and ‘Thriller’ in the film, there are others too... The lips are off with the words and the real person doing the dancing requires much too much effort. MJ was effort-less and this stand in was obviously good, but not MJ good by any stretch.”

And don’t expect either side to play nice in this intense trial, which comes almost four years after Jackson’s death.

“AEG is coming in with guns blazing. They are intent on bringing up everything including the child molestation, and will attempt to embarrass Michael and the Jackson family,” added our source.

Lawyers for AEG and the Jackson family did not respond to a request for comment."

The hospitalization of Paris Jackson after her suicide attempt early Wednesday morning has once again placed the 15-year-old's family life under a microscope.

Though co-guardian grandmother Katherine Jackson, biological mother Debbie Rowe and co-guardian cousin TJ Jackson have all visited Paris, the future of her home life remains unclear as the trio tries to determine what's best for the teenager, who struggles to balance a normal childhood with the pressures that come with being part of her famous family.

"Katherine, Debbie and TJ are going to meet on this soon to discuss and come up with a plan," a source close to the family tells PEOPLE.

After Michael Jackson died in 2009 at age 50, his mother Katherine was granted full custody of the pop icon's three children, Prince Michael I, Paris and Prince Michael II (a.k.a. "Blanket").

But following a series of events in August 2012 – including a reports of an altercation at the family compound and of 83-year-old Katherine having gone missing, before later being located in Arizona – Michael's nephew and the children's cousin, TJ Jackson, was named their temporary guardian.

While the source says TJ is considered "very hands on," taking the kids to school and dealing with their meetings, Paris still felt that something was missing in her home life.

"Paris loves her grandmother but feels that Katherine can't provide for her emotional needs," says the source. "She and Katherine are close, but it just isn't working for Paris. That's why Paris has turned to Debbie Rowe. There is something missing in Paris's life. The family hasn't really taken this serious."

Another source adds that with Michael's wrongful death trial underway, Katherine is consumed by it, which leaves little time for Paris.

"[Paris] loves Katherine, but Katherine is dealing with the trial – and Katherine is an old woman. Just getting to the trial and back is a big deal for Katherine. She's not really capable of giving Paris all the support she needs," says an insider familiar with the situation.

"It's really sad," the insider adds. "Paris is the girl who has everything, but the girl who has nothing. She's so alone."

Says the source close to the Jacksons, "Paris went to UCLA Medical Center a few months back for depression and because she was feeling suicidal. She misses her father greatly. She was the center of Michael's world. And it's all different now. She's just one of many grandkids now."

Paris had recently connected with her mother, Rowe, but the reunion (which has Katherine's support) may have been a cry for help.

"Paris is very unhappy and alone," adds the insider. "She's living in this place and there's security and uncles and all these hangers-on. And she's alone. That's one of the reasons she reached out to Debbie Rowe – she wants a family, she's missed her dad."

Michael Jackson left behind three children the world knew little about when he died more than four years ago. "Remembering Michael" is a new documentary that now sheds light on intimate details about the King of Pop's personal life through the eyes of his children.

"It took me until I was, like, six years old, to learn that his name was Michael Jackson. He was always 'daddy' to me," Jackson's oldest son, Prince, 16, says in the documentary.

Jackson's youngest child, 11-year-old Blanket, also speaks publicly for the first time about his future aspirations.

"I'm going to try to help, like Africa, because that's a very poor continent," Blanket says. "There's a lot of animals that are being killed from, like, poachers and stuff. So, I want to help, like, endangered species of animals."

Paris, 15, describes the great lengths her father went to protect the children's privacy. Their secluded upbringing included wearing veils and masks in public.

"We didn't know a lot of kids, like, our age," she says. "We were more secluded. We never really left the ranch that often."

The documentary, executive produced by family matriarch Katherine Jackson, can be viewed on Fundanything.com by fans who pay a $10 fee online. Contributions are being solicited online at different levels in exchange for memorabilia to cover licensing costs.

"[Katherine] really wanted to fund this without asking any of the people around her, including the Michael Jackson estate, for funding," Kirk Schenck, producer of "Remembering Michael," told ABC News.

The children believe, sometimes, that Jackson's eccentric lifestyle and behavior were misunderstood. "It's not right to invade someone's privacy like that," Blanket says.

In one scene from the preview, Prince talks about how his father pushed the children to be great. "He wanted us to always … be greater at it than anybody else had ever been," Prince said.

Jackson, 50, died in 2009 from acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication.

"He promised me he would teach me how to moonwalk," Paris says. "He never got around to it."

A new memoir from hit music producer L.A. Reid reveals that music legend Michael Jackson had a cold side, as he claims the late singer was mean to Prince and acted cruelly toward his older brother Jermaine.

According to the New York Post, in the new book, Sing to Me, Reid alleges that Michael Jackson was extremely dismissive of his older Jermaine, and wasn't nice to fellow singer and longtime rival Prince.

In the book, Reid wrote about when he was working with Jermaine on a music album, alongside Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds in the 1990s.

At some point, Michael Jackson's manager called Reid and Edmonds to discuss writing songs with the King of Pop.

'I should be a totally different person: Revealing letter shows how Michael Jackson plotted to re-invent himself as King of Pop after leaving the Jackson Five

A little-known letter penned by Michael Jackson when he was 21, in which he described his mission statement for what he wanted to become, is featuring in a new documentary on the King of Pop.
In the handwritten note, the singer talks about his plans to change himself from his Jackson 5 days to become 'a whole new character' with 'a whole new look'.
The manifesto was scribbled on the back of Destiny tour itinerary in 1979, the same year he released his debut studio solo album Off The Wall.

It was found in 2013 by 60 Minutes' Lara Logan and producer John Hamlin while they were touring a secret warehouse where Michael Jackson's personal effects are stored.
The letter features in the documentary Michael Jackson's Journey From Motown To Off The Wall, directed by film maker Spike Lee, which will be shown on BBC Two on Saturday March 12.

In it the performer writes: 'MJ will be my new name. No more Michael Jackson.
'I want a whole new character, a whole new look. I should be a tottally [sic] different person.
People should never think of me as the kid who sang ABC, [or] I Want You Back.
I should be a new, incredible actor/singer/dancer that will shock the world. I will do no interviews. I will be magic.
I will be a perfectionist, a researcher, a trainer, a masterer [sic]. I will be better than every great actor roped into one.'

In the margin of the document, Jackson also expressed a desire to study the work of great entertainers to improve himself. 'I will study and look back on the whole world of entertainment and perfect it, take it steps further from where the greats left off,' he wrote.
Spike Lee's film captures the story of the child star who became the self-proclaimed King of Pop.
He died in 2009 aged 50.
The film also features interviews with his parents, brothers, and fellow musicians as well as archive footage of dancers Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Rat Pack star Sammy Davis Junior speaking about the young Michael Jackson learning from their styles.

Michael Jackson underage sex collection: The photos of naked teenage boys and 'all-male erotica depicting men and children' detailed in newly released police report from 2003 search of Neverland Ranch

Michael Jackson was found to have a sizable collection of pornographic material at his Neverland Ranch in 2003 according to police reports cataloging the property following a search of the residence.

Many of these books and videos are also detailed in court papers from the time, submitted after a young boy came forward claiming that he had been sexually abused and assaulted by the singer on multiple occasions.

The police report claims that in Jackson's bedroom and bathroom alone there were at least seven collections of work found by investigators that show boys in their teenage years - and in some cases younger - fully nude or partially clothed.

One of the collections, Taormina Wilhelm Von Gloeden, is described in court papers as: 'Nude photos of teenage boys from late 1800s.'

The search of the home occurred in November of that year while Jackson was in Las Vegas, with 70 members of the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office and Sheriff's Department turning up to the residence.

An arrest warrant had been issued at that time as well, and Jackson later turned himself into police when he returned to California.
