"Cyndi Lauper's Ex-Stepfather Watched Her Taking Baths As A Teen
After she spotted her former stepfather spying on her while taking a bath, 17-year-old Cyndi Lauper moved out of her mother's home.
The singer detailed the horrific experience in upcoming book "Cyndi Lauper: A Memoir." Her parents divorced when she was 5, and her mother Catrine remarried and moved her family in with her new husband. Eventually, her stepfather started beating up her mother and threatening to rape Cyndi and her older sister Elen.
Lauper, now 59, writes, "Unfortunately, she married a pedophile who beat her and bullied her. He'd threaten to beat her parents and rape her daughters while she was at work." In another excerpt, obtained by the New York Post, the singer insists she could no longer bear living at home after catching him as he watched her take a bath: "I heard his creepy giggle and saw my stepfather's pear-shaped shadow... It was too much. It was worse than him beating the dog when she cried... It was worse than him touching himself, right outside our bedroom window."

"Disney digital pioneer Bob Lambert dies at 55
LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Digital media executive Bob Lambert died suddenly Friday at his home in Glendale, his family announced this week. He was 55, and a cause of death was not given.
During his 25 years at the Walt Disney Company and through his associations with various industry organizations, Lambert was a major force in pushing the film business to embrace a digital future.
He played key roles in overhauling Disney's approach to creating its animated hits and altering the way those movies are projected on the big screen.
Lambert was a senior executive at Disney until 2010, with a portfolio of projects ranging from movies to television to e-commerce and gaming. In his final post, he was the senior technology executive in charge of strategic planning, intellectual property, patent strategy, standards and regulatory issues and talent recruitment.
Lambert was also a founder and chairman of DCI, LLC, the six-studio consortium that helped push movie theaters to abandon film projectors in favor of digital exhibition. In that capacity, he helped create a set of uniform standards for digital projection.
While working for Disney Feature Animation, Lambert helped develop a way to replace cell animation with CGI production, later tapping Pixar to design the software and help create the digital production system.
"I am deeply saddened by the passing of Bob Lambert," Motion Picture Association of America CEO Chris Dodd said Tuesday in a statement. "A pioneer for both the creative and tech communities, Bob led us into the transition from celluloid film to digital, and forever improved the quality of our films and our movie-watching experience."

"McKeon, founder of PE firm Veritas, committed suicide
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Robert B. McKeon, founder and chairman of private equity firm Veritas Capital Management LLC, took his life at his Darien, Connecticut home on September 10, it emerged on Friday, based on information provided by Veritas and the state's medical examiner's office.
The death of McKeon, 58, has deeply saddened the firm, Veritas Capital said in a statement.
"Bob was an extraordinary person, a consummate professional, and a cherished friend and colleague. We are continuing to oversee operations at Veritas and at our portfolio companies, consistent with our regular practice and as Bob would have wanted," the statement said on Friday.
McKeon has a wife and children, a spokesman for the firm said, declining to provide further details, citing the family's wish for privacy. He also declined to comment on the cause of death and provide any detail on how McKeon lost his life.
Connecticut's medical examiner's office told Reuters that a man of the same name had died of asphyxia due to neck compression and declared his death a suicide.
Before founding Veritas Capital in 1992, McKeon was a founding partner and served as chairman of Wasserstein Perella Management Partners, where he led deals such as the acquisition and management of Maybelline Cosmetics. Preceding that, he was a director at First Boston Corporation.
Born in Bronx, New York, in 1954, he graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University, with a B.S. in Economics and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.
A generous supporter of his alma maters, including his high school, Albertus Magnus, McKeon established a fellowship fund in 2005 for military personnel at Harvard University. He was an avid art and book collector and painter, Veritas Capital said.
The Veritas Capital spokesman declined to comment on whether McKeon's death triggers any clauses in its private equity funds that would affect investors.
News of McKeon's death was first reported on Thursday by the Wall Street Journal.
New York-based Veritas Capital specializes in investments in companies that provide products and services to government and commercial customers worldwide. In June, it completed its $1.25 billion acquisition of the healthcare unit of Thomson Reuters Corp, the parent company of Reuters News.
Veritas Capital has $2.2 billion in assets under management."

"Manti Te’o of Notre Dame to play through grief after deaths of grandmother and girlfriend
Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o had a terrible week of tragedy and loss.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Te'o's grandmother passed away on Tuesday night. The next day Te'o's girlfriend, identified by the Detroit Free Press as Lennay Kekua, lost a battle with leukemia.
The Chicago Tribune said Te'o plans to play at Michigan State, and it sounds like his Irish teammates have helped him through an unspeakably difficult 24-hour stretch:
"He lost some people very close to him, and it's obviously taken a toll on him," Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said. "Our players have been there for him and have been a great support. We'll support him. He'll be with us. He practiced. He'll be playing Saturday against Michigan State.
"Unfortunately, he's gone through a very rough 24, 48 hours. But his support and his family at home have been great, and all of the coaches and players have been there for him. He wants to be with his teammates, he wants to be with the people that care about him. He's a strong man and he's going through a tough time, but he'll rise to the occasion."

"Amanda Bynes - Serious Mental Issues
Amanda Bynes has much bigger problems than smoking pot and driving illegally ... there's evidence she has serious mental issues.
TMZ has spoken with a number of people who have had repeated contact with Bynes over the last few months, and the stories are consistent and disturbing.
Several people from her gym -- Equinox in West Hollywood - tell us, she has been showing increasingly alarming signs of delusional behavior. One person says Amanda came to the gym Thursday looking dazed and began speaking with herself -- making comments and then answering back.
Another person says when Amanda was on the elliptical, she would stop suddenly and start "laughing hysterically for no reason." She did this periodically throughout her workout. This person says he's seen her dozens of times in the last few months, and says it's apparent her condition is "deteriorating."
Several of Amanda's neighbors echo the concern over Amanda's condition. One tells us he observed her on several occasions having long conversations with inanimate objects. Another person says people in her condo complex are aware of her condition and her conduct but haven't called her friends or relatives or authorities because they just don't want to get involved, given her profile.
Some of the people in the building have been upset over the last few weeks, because they believe the media is painting Amanda as a garden variety pothead and they say her problems are much deeper."

"Stephen Dunham Dead: 'DAG' Actor Dies At 48
Actor Stephen Dunham (né Bowers) is dead at age 48. According to Variety, the cause of death was a heart attack the television actor had suffered a few days earlier, before dying on Sept. 14 at Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, Calif.
Dunham was a prolific actor who appeared on a number of television shows, including ABC's "Hot Properties," "Just Shoot Me!" and, perhaps most memorably, "DAG," on which he played Edward Pillows. He also made appearances in the films "The Mummy" and "Monster-in-Law." He is set to star as part of a wedded couple in the upcoming "Paranormal Activity" with his real-life wife, actress Alexondra Lee.
Lee and Dunham had been married since 2005; the pair met while acting in 1999's ABC college comedy, "Oh Grow Up," created by Alan Ball. The Hollywood Reporter reports Dunham's family is asking that donations be made in honor of Dunham to the National Brain Tumor Society or Kiva.org."

"Sharon Stone Faints at Fashion Show, Taken to Hospital
Sharon Stone was taken to a hospital in Milan, Italy on Saturday Sept. 22 after fainting at a Fendi fashion show. "She had fainted and was out cold," a source tells Us Weekly. "It was scary."
But all is well for the still-stunning Basic Instinct actress and longtime AIDS activist, 54, who was in the Italian city for an amfAR benefit.
"Sharon experienced migraine related symptoms, and we all felt it best that she got checked out before the amfAR event," a rep for amFAR tells Us Weekly. "She was examined and given a clean bill of health. And as she said, wild horses couldn't keep her away.â€

Poor Billie....
"Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong seeks substance abuse treatment following outburst
On the heels of his epic onstage meltdown at the iHeartRadio festival on Friday night, Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong is headed to treatment for substance abuse.
The rockers have also announced that some upcoming promotional appearances for their forthcoming disc Uno! (due Sept. 25) have been canceled.
Green Day posted this message on its official Facebook page Sunday:
“Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.â€
The band did not disclose what sort of substance abuse Armstrong will be treated for, and emails to both the band’s personal and record label representatives from EW have not been returned at this time.
During their iHeartRadio set, Green Day smashed their guitars and stormed off the stage following an expletive-laden rant by Armstrong, who seemed to feel the band’s set was being cut short."

YEAH, SURE, BRAINWASHING IS CALLED NOW "ASTHMA ATTACK".... THEY ARENT INSPIRED AT ALL, THOSE ELITE IDIOTS....
"Lindsay Lohan hospitalized after asthma attack
Two weeks after Lindsay Lohan tried to get out of her “Scary Movie 5†cameo by claiming she had walking pneumonia, she was rushed to a New York City emergency room last night after an asthma attack. The “Liz & Dick†actress received medical attention at Mt. Sinai and was discharged a short time later after getting prescribed some antibiotics, according to TMZ. Now resting at her hotel, Lohan is "doing fine," says her rep.
If Lohan really was truly suffering from walking pneumonia as she claimed, she certainly felt well enough to party. Around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, she was arrested after striking a man with the Porsche she was driving as she arrived at the Dream Hotel. Three days later, Lohan was back on the late-night social scene, but thankfully this time, she was riding in the passenger seat.
Another thing that probably doesn’t help asthma? Smoking. Still, Lohan was photographed doing a lot of it in the two weeks since she said she had walking pneumonia. On September 13, she posted a photo on Twitter with a cigarette in her mouth and another behind her ear. Shortly after, the “Mean Girls†star was seen on the set of “Scary Movie 5†puffing away while walking from her trailer.
Walking pneumonia, hit-and-run ... how do you think Lindsay will grab headlines next?"

"Amanda Bynes flees to New York City, strange behavior follows
Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan have a lot more in common than they think. The “What I Like About You†actress fled Los Angeles to New York City over the weekend, a few weeks after the “Mean Girls†star – who called out Bynes for getting off easy in her hit-and-run cases – did the same. Bynes, who missed a hearing regarding her suspended license in L.A. on Monday, was spotted in midtown Manhattan on Saturday “aimlessly wandering around for hours,†an eyewitness tells TMZ, which also has a photo of her carrying shopping bags.
In an interview with People magazine last week, Bynes revealed that she planned on moving to the Big Apple to pursue a career in fashion now that she is “retired†from acting. TMZ adds that the 26-year-old has told friends that she has no plans to return to L.A., even though her parents have just moved there from Texas to be closer to their troubled daughter.
When Bynes was caught driving on a suspended license on September 16 after police witnessed her aimlessly driving around a valet area of Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California, at 8 a.m., it’s unclear if she was there to take a flight. Approximately 90 minutes later, she exited the airport and was pulled over yet again by police … and that time, they impounded her vehicle."
