I find it interesting that both Tom and Nicole have been replaced.
I had a peculiar dream last night that I found particularly disturbing. I was sent to this "farm" and when I arrived I noticed that the place had an odd assortment of "celebrities". Those who are supposedly there for "drug rehab", and then there was a man whose face was disfigured, but there was a look in his eyes that looked like the real Tom Cruise. It was as though these celebrities were disfigured, or disregarded because of the habitual drug abuse had caused disfigurement in their features that had them look much older than they were, or just unrecognizable.
It was as though the real people were living on this farm and doubles were used as the "celebrities" that were used in public appearances.
With so much discussion on this forum, and perhaps channel surfing and stopping on that celebrity rehab house program that must have affected my sleep to cause such a dream.
But it does make one wonder if something happened to the real Tom, perhaps some car accident that caused his face to be disfigured so much so they had to replace him. Rather than kill the "image", they perpetuated the image with a replacement. Not that it could be the case for all celebrity replacements, but accidents and drug abuse or alcoholism can affect one's looks.

"But accidents and drug abuse or alcoholism can affect one's looks." I know, but the whole stuff goes a lot farther than that. Call me mad but I dont think that drug abuse/alcoholism can affect one's look that much that he/she needs to be replaced. As for accidents... Too many "accidents" and too many persons replaced... Hmm.... I dont buy this. Well, there are also those moped accidents like in PAUL MCCARTNEY's case, thats another matter. Lets talk about MAE WEST a bit. MAE died early, in the 50's and she was imposter replaced by her (gay and sick in the head) brother. Its exactly what u said, rather than kill the "image", they went on with an imposter. MAE also should be brought up here and SHIRLEY TEMPLE too. I have reasons to believe that SHIRLEY was replaced either. This thing is discussed on PID forum.

I refer to accidents and drug abuse as the excuses they spew out as excuses to why people look different.
IMHO I don't buy into these stories too much. If someone is out of the spotlight for a time, for whatever reasons they try to explain a difference in someone, I have to suspect something more sinister taking place.
I've wondered why Mae West looked a bit like an old drag queen in her later years. That wouldn't surprise me at all.
What makes a person addicted to plastic surgery, or whatever other reasons why people look so strange? Hmmm. Gee, trying to find a reasonable likeness and the times that the plastic surgeon fails to make a resemblance...eeeks...a strange plastic surgery nightmare? Hmmm

Lucy, I don't think your dream is weird at all. In fact, it reminds me of the movie Vanilla Sky. I've been intrigued by layers of things going on in that film - like there's lots of info about how things work in the world if you can figure it out.
Anyway, in it, Tom Cruise's character's face was horribly disfigured after a car wreck (caused by Cameron Diaz's character - who was killed). We watch as Cruise is tortured by his circumstances and dissolves into a pain killer addicted, deformed freak who kills his girlfriend (Penelope Cruz) in a passionate (read: they were f*cking) moment that turned into a mental breakdown. The twist of the movie is that Tom was cryogenically frozen until they discovered a way to repair his face and everything that we saw before that was basically a comatose dream/nightmare.
I saw the movie long before I was aware of the mindf*ck the entertainment industry is, so at the time I just thought it was an interesting, deep movie. But it shouldn't be too much of a stretch for you or the readers of this forum to think there are such things as "farms" (rehab centers, military hospitals/bases) where "originals" are kept while doppels carry on the public lives of the famous and infamous. Maybe some are even cryogenic farms...
OK - back to lurking.

No, not strange for me at all this "farm/center/factory" matter. It is smth as common as anything else (in their world).

The question may arise "Why keep the 'originals' alive?" Perhaps they need a constant flow of DNA to keep the clones alive.
Not that I have any scientific data to back up this...just my imagination running away from me.

Not that I have any scientific data to back up this...just my imagination running away from me. Could very well be true. A DNA and organ source for the replacement. It could be a form of "punishment" too. Presumably they were replaced because they didn't cooperate in some way. Being kept a prisoner while some impostor gets all the glory would be quite some punishment.

Thinking about that is giving me creeps.

After reading what I had written a while back, it does creep me out. It also may explain why so many of the celebrities look "plastic" and how so many of them we see comparisons posted in various threads, and it has me thinking plastic surgery may be the excuse given to explain why so many celebrities look different, so many fakes out there.

We are already on our 3rd Tom(possibly 4th or 5th)... but I am sure there has been at least three. At the beginning of this thread, I said that the original Tom Cruise was replaced after the 1983 film All The Right Moves.
But now I see that he was replaced again after the 1993 film The Firm. Look at the drastic change in ONLY A YEAR(Interview With The Vampire was released in 1994).
Fruise#1 in The Firm(1993)
Fruise# 2 in Interview With the Vampire(1994)
