Human-Like Robot 'Nadine' Who Has a 'Personality, Mood and Emotions' Unveiled in Singapore abcnews.go.com/Technology/human-robot-nadine-personality-mood-emotions-unveiled-singapore/story?id=36032196"Scientists at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have unveiled "Nadine," a socially intelligent, human-looking robot complete with "her own personality, mood and emotions," according to a university news release. The humanoid "receptionist" was presented at a new media showcase Tuesday at NTU, where her human creator, professor Nadia Thalmann, predicted that "physical social robots such as Nadine are poised to become more visible in offices and homes in future."

High-tech skin patch monitors exposure to UV rays and tells you when to apply sunscreen www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3386856/No-sunburn-High-tech-skin-patch-monitors-exposure-UV-rays-tells-apply-sunscreen.html"Cosmetics firm L'Oreal has unveiled the 'first-ever' stretchable skin sensor designed to monitor UV exposure and help consumers educate themselves about sun protection. The My UV Patch was launched at CES 2016 in Las Vegas and protects against skin cancer by monitoring exposure to the sun and sending the readings to a connected app. The high-tech sensor, which resembles a small band aid, contains photosensitive dyes which factor in the baseline skin tone and changes colour when it is exposed to UV rays."

nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/11/patrick-hardison-face-transplant.html"For the moment, the face belongs to no one. It floats in a bowl of icy, hemodynamic preserving solution, paused midway on its journey from one operating room to another, from a 26-year-old Brooklyn bike mechanic who’d been declared brain-dead 48 hours earlier to a 41-year-old Mississippi fireman whose face had burned off in a blaze 14 years ago. The mechanic’s face, though nearly flat, still bears a few reminders of its former owner: a stubble of dark-blond hair, pierced ears, a hook-shaped scar at the spot where surgeons had entered his skull trying to save his life. A surgeon reaches his gloved hands into the blood-tinged liquid and kneads the face, draining the last of the mechanic’s blood. Then he lifts the face up to a camera, showing off his handiwork. As he raises it, it seems to inflate and take the shape of a face again, one that no longer resembles the cyclist. The forehead is shorter, the cheeks puffier. The lips have fallen into a crescent, as if smiling. The face looks like it will when, an hour later, it is fitted over the raw skull of the fireman waiting in the next room...."

What about the notion that Taylor was cloned from the daughter of Church of Satan founder Anton Lavey?

"Autonomous Weapon Systems and US Military Robotics: Unmanned Aerial and Ground Vehicles (UAV and UGV) Ever since the second World War and especially during the Cold War era the idea of engineering an autonomous weapon system, also known as military robot, has taken deep roots throughout military circles all across the globe. From first specimens like Goliath tracked mines and Soviet Teletanks, which now look rather funny, to top tier drones capable of delivering heavy payload hundreds of miles away removing any potential threat which could harm their operators. Countries like United States, Russia, China, France, United Kingdom, Iran, Israel, India and more are heavily investing in these futuristic programs not only in the financial sector but in the science department as well. Many think that these new weapons systems will be the future of modern warfare, although there have been some serious statements considering humanitarian aspects and the potential for human rights violations." www.globalresearch.ca/autonomous-weapon-systems-and-us-military-robotics-unmanned-aerial-and-ground-vehicles-uav-and-ugv/5505415

www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3405312/Could-humanity-s-century-Expert-says-engineering-children-lead-creation-new-species.html"....Istvan says one possibility is uploading parts of his personality to a machine so that future generations can reconstruct a realistic avatar that recreates his being. ‘What happens is you take a complete scan of the brain with incredible detail using technology that is already available to some extent,’ he said. ‘Then in 20 or 30 years when the technology arrives, we upload these detailed scans to a machine, which reconfigures the brain circuitry using sophisticated algorithms.’ If all goes well, it may be possible to have an uploaded consciousness that exactly resembles someone’s personality. From this point, he says, people could transform themselves as an avatar and live in virtual reality. By then, robotics would be so advanced that you wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell the difference between who is a real human and who is a machine. ‘In the next 20 years we're going to become cyborgs, we're going to become healthier, and probably a lot more interesting.’ "

pagesix.com/2016/03/14/billionaire-barry-diller-clones-his-dog/"Media billionaire Barry Diller has cloned his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Shannon, into two new pups. Sources say Diller, the chairman of IAC, became so attached to Shannon that he got the pampered pooch’s DNA cloned by a specialist company, which created a pair of puppies who are almost exact replicas. Shannon was no ordinary terrier: One year, she disturbed his annual pre-Oscars picnic with his designer wife Diane von Furstenberg by finding her way onto the Spanish-tile roof of the couple’s hacienda. Shannon proceeded to run back and forth perilously close to the edge, in view of worried guests including Shirley MacLaine, Joan Collins and Diana Ross, forcing Diller to head up to the roof deck to lure her down. The Post also reported that Shannon slept in a grand, custom-made, neoclassical doghouse when she was not making the scene at LA Oscar parties. Cloning dogs costs up to $100,000, and is done by a Korean firm that implants DNA into a dog egg. A rep for Diller confirmed the cloning but didn’t comment further."
