Sandy Shaw here is singing a "Puppet" song that sounds very close to a Fylvie song ("Zum Zum Zum") of the same time period,
the suddenly, magically Italian-fluent faux-"Sylvie Vartan" (played by Italian Sardinia native Marisa Sannia?), that is:

The "rocketman-Shatner" and Star Trek Shatner's profiles do indeed look very different. Compare clips from old ST with rocketman above for profile comparisons, for example this: William Shatner was replaCIAed? It's looking more and more likely to me.

Shatner has a career gap in 1976, from what we can glean of his imdb; just four TV appearnces, far fewer than all other years. Was he replaCIAed then? The politics, mind and soul of Montreal native Wiliam Shatner---- William Shatner starring in Incubus, 1965 a movie entirely in the artficially constructed, attempted universal language of Esperanto: www.youtube.com/watch?v=F77k6SQX7iQExtremely unusual for a Hollywood TV/movie celebrity to be doing such intellectual/pinko left wing kind of stuff. And Star Trek had the same sort of subversive humanistic, progressive message of freedom and equality, brought to life by Shatner as the leader-figure Capt. Kirk. a Subversive threat to the system that had to be eliminated, "absorbed"into the system as Landru of beta III said? Shatner's "Transformed Man" album, where the famous and stupidly ridiculed "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "mr. tambourine man" spoken word perofrmance of Shatner are done to expose and oppose the societal destruction and maniplations of drug abuse popularization by the music industry-state machine, is in the same vein of humanist rebellion against corruption and mind control. That 1960s, intellctual, rebel, great-spirited Shatner was gone by the 1970s when Fhanter (?) took his place. The Transformed Man (1968): www.amazon.com/Transformed-Man-William-Shatner/dp/B0006J2G9I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1248718773&sr=8-3--------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "How William Shatner Changed the World' DVDEditorial Reviews Amazon.com With tongue firmly in cheek, How William Shatner Changed the World makes an entertaining and altogether convincing case for the positive influence of Star Trek. While the title may be slightly misleading, we can forgive Shatner's light-hearted self-promotion (based on his book I'm Working on That: A Trek from Science Fiction to Science Fact, written with Chip Walter) because this Emmy-nominated Discovery Channel program is such a constant pleasure to watch, not just for devoted Trekkies but for anyone with a passion for exploration, innovation, and the promise of the future. Originally broadcast in November 2005, the program serves a dual purpose, chronicling the history of Star Trek since its TV premiere in 1966, and demonstrating how series creator Gene Roddenberry's hopeful vision of the future has affected millions of lives, influenced the development of modern technologies, and shaped our future by presenting an inspirational example of humanity's potential. As he cruises around Los Angeles in a burgundy-colored Aston Martin DB8, Shatner (in the capable hands of director Julian Jones) introduces us to a wide variety of people whose bright, forward-thinking careers were inspired by Star Trek. Along with personal observations by Star Trek veterans George Takei ("Sulu"), Walter Koenig ("Chekov"), writer D.C. Fontana, and Next Generation alumnus Jonathan Frakes, these top scientists, inventors, and space explorers are combined with Shatner's lively narration and highly humorous editing of Star Trek film clips, archival footage, and expert testimonies to show how Star Trek's fiction has had a ripple effect on scientific fact. As a breezy primer on the cultural, technological, and scientific impact of Star Trek, How William Shatner Changed the World is more entertaining than purely educational, but it's still an excellent program for family viewing and classrooms alike, guaranteed to open bright, young minds to a dazzling universe of exciting possibilities. --Jeff Shannon Product Description Studio: Peace Arch Home Entertain Release Date: 04/10/2007

It looks like another actress was replaced. This time it's Isla Fisher, the red-headed star in Wedding Crashers(2005). I think she was replaced right before her recent movie Confessions of a Shopaholic(2009). Isla Fisla

I've been wondering of Dan Akroyd was imposter-replaced in the 1980s, follwing the death/murder of John Belushi. Here he is in a 1977 Canadian film:
