I mentioned a long time ago (on Nothing is Real) that I thought Johnny Depp was replaced after the movie "Cry Baby". I tend to think that BOTH Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were replaced after the 1978 album "Some Girls" (the last good Stones' album, IMO).They do a song (sung by Keith) with the words,"we are going to walk away, before they make us run".Seemingly indicating that they were retiring and not killed.

I agree Richards may have been replaced at that time but Jagger was replaced before....in 1974.

So it happened around 1991, according to u. Interesting, definitely Id like to know more about that. From what I saw, I noticed he was replaced also in the 90's, but much later, after toward their end or in 2000. Can u also give the link to NIR for that?

I'm wondering if the powers that be that ended Brian Jones' life had to do with the direction of the Stones'....? Perhaps Keith and Mick were replaced after Jones' death...Though I'm not sure...
I do know that I've seen pics of a young Mick and his eyes "bugged" out. Frick Jagger has squinty eyes. If one's eyes "bugged" they'd always "bug"...like Don Knotts or Marty Feldman.
I'd have to see pics of the Stones after Jones' death and before the disco crap.

I recently studied a bunch of pictures of Keith from the 1960s to the present and found it difficult to pin down the date of his change of appearance but my best guess would be in the late 1970s as you say. The difficult part (for me) for pinning down these things is the unreliability of dates connected with photos. Dates may represent when the photo was published rather than when it was taken or may just be completely wrong for other reasons.

I've wondered about Whitney. The age old story of someone on drugs, and they can't sing like they used to, and they don't look quite like they used to....Wouldn't surprise me if they replaced her as well.

Back to MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY. Got a couple of comments here: "Matthew looked 30-something when he did Dazed and Confused and TCM 4,yet he was in his early 20s!!!! I thought he was around 45 but he's still under 40. He looks younger now than then." "I was thinking the same thing. A Time to Kill, Contact, EdTV, U-571, Frailty, Reign of Fire.... I'm not saying they're all the best movies, but he was good in them, and they showed he really had skill and diversity as an actor. Then...suddenly, phfft... That was it. Romantic comedies over and over again for the last six years to the point he's not taken the slightest bit serious anymore. Who knows though, maybe that's what he likes to do and didn't enjoy his other more serious roles. "Either way, he needs to get into some different roles or he's going to lose all his credibility." Replaced the serious guy/actor coz he was inconvenient and played in such movies (even Hollywood style) with a less talented "family man"? Lets take a look: In 2005 In 2008/2009 Also 2008/2009 2009 No way, this cant be the same f**king guy. Gosh! Also from 2005 From earlier than 2005 Mabe he was indeed replaced in 2004, when he stopped making good movies? Or later? Is SAHARA the last movie in which the real MATTHEW starred? BTW, did I say I noticed different ears again? As usual. ;D

I have wondered about Courtney Love. She began as the queen of grunge, then she transformed into an actual Hollywood Glam Gal, and now she's the queen of grunge plastic surgery.
I don't know whether to think she was replaced, or under the heading of strange plastic surgeries...either way, she was one of those abused by the system...
