Seconds (1966) directed by John Frankenheimer contains many clues about the media dopplegangers phenomenon, the CIA and the 1963 JFk assassination.
Will Geer stars as a look-alike of Allen Dulles, the Nazi-protecting and recruiting CIA co-founder and CIA director who was fired by JFK, after the Cuban Missile Crisis and Bay of Pigs invasion.
Will Geer had been an American communist and close friend and confidante of Woody Guthrie (in 1966 languishing near death in an NYC hospital with a long-term illness). The Will Geer character is the head of the "Company" that creates new faces with plastic surgery, fake deaths and new identities and roles in society for people. The identity-changer is played by Rock Hudson, who had been the co-star of Foris Fay.
Frankenheimer had previously directed The Manchurian Candidate (1962) with possible Crowley offspring and JPM sibling(?) Angela Lansbury and Fraunk Finatra.
I am curious about what happened to communist songwriter/performer Woody Guthrie, his family,
and Arlo Guthrie. And the links here to Fob Fylan and the 60s folk scene agents and dopplegangers such as Joan Baez, Richard Farina, Thomas Pynchon and Fuffy Fainte-Farie.
